Surprise, surprise

Short breakdown of my day so far:

- Meeting to buy a vehicle tracking system for our fleet of trucks.
- Call from the CEO to take some pictures of part of the factory for some Ministry.
- Passing home to pick my camera ... and then ...

DING DONG !!! Door Bell ...
I thought it's the DVD guy is trying to sell bad copies to me or the Harris telling me to move my car or something... NO... It was 'the old one'! Almost forgot that from today on I am sharing my apartment!
She smiled, asked if Madam called me... no... she didn't... 'Ohh' she replied. 'Then you don't know?'. I had noooooo idea what she was talking about. 'I came to pick up the plants and things that we already moved in!'. 'What?!? Well ... OK ... go ahead...' I replied wondering what the hell is going on now with 'the big one' (a.k.a. 'drama queen').
So when the plants and the old one left I called the big one.
'Ohhh! guess what! Bla bla bla... I am moving to Oman! ... I can stay in my Apartment... I feel like the cow in the movie "twister" that was flying across the street... my (ex-) boyfriend will move me into another apartment and pay for it... bla bla bla... my job is going in circles... I paid school till the end of the year... the cow Evil Knievel, the cow... I am moving to Oman in June... my mother in Oman... he will pay... bla bla bla... big bucks... the embassy is looking for an apartment... I might go to 'Jamaica Apartments'... bla bla bla... plants... moving... embassy... come for coffee... thank you! bye!'.
I took only this much out of the 10 minute phone call. All I said was:' aha... OK... yes... aha.. OK... cool... OK... twister is the movie... OK... aha... let's see... you are welcome... bye...'.

OK... what ever her reasons to change her mind within the last 12 hours since I last spoke with her, it's cool with me! I offered my help since she was in need and it turned out that she found a better solution then to cramp us all into my little place. Just good that I didn't take a day off for helping her move her shit!
I didn't have too much work in preparing my part (just getting rid of everything the little one should not be exposed too) and after all of them showing up to clean, my apartment is now ready to be inspected by a U.S. Marines Drill Sergeant and getting away with only 50 push-ups (they always find something and if not they'll make something up), that's how clean it is...

What's the bad side of it?
- No maid
- No hot food when coming home
- No live entertainment at home when bored
- No more plants in my place

Whats the good side of it?
- still gonna have movie nights!!
- no female touch in my bachelors place
- spring cleaning done
- no reason to act responsible in my place (because the little one is not there)
- no standing in line at the bathroom door
- smoking still permitted everywhere
- no drama stories from the big one

So all in all... it was just another drama story from the big one... :)
May she find peace and harmony one day! :P

Palms Diving Center ... NO !

Besides being a semi professional race driver / CoD4 Player / bullshit talker, I am also a certified diving instructor (for real! no kidding!).
But just like my career as a race driver kinda stopped, so did my diving career come to a stand still. And this for no apparent reason! I mean, I am living in a country with lots of coast and water and boats and stuff. But still, I am not diving! I even got all my stuff here for which I had to pay a good amount for over weight taking it with me on the flight from Germany!
I used to go diving every weekend and believe me... my relationship back then suffered big time under this! And this was fresh water diving!! No corral reefs, no color full fishes, no depth deeper then 10 meters, no 26 degree warm water, ... NO! Nothing like this!!! Just cold, murky lakes with a few simple fish inside that you usually don't see and lots of algae!

Now last week I decided it's time for diving again! Weather is more or less nice (at least the temperatures) and the diving schools offer trips again. So I went to the Palms Dive Center, with whom I used to go diving with before, and asked them for an available seat in their boat... not only for me but for a good friend as well. Here is what they told me: "NO!"
They didn't say, 'sorry, we are fully booked' or 'unfortunately not this week', ... no... they just said: NO!
WTF! I understand that a lot of people have the same idea as me and all of the sudden feel the urge to go under water and breath compressed air for an hour... and it's OK for me to wait for a week or two (or even three) to get my turn! I am civilised! I stand in line if necessary!!!
But... NO!
I even asked them for a later trip... a trip in two, three weeks... answer: NO!
No explanation given... nothing...

Their 'NO' finally gave me the rest! Because I already told them LAST YEAR SEPTEMBER that they should order a half dry neoprene suite for me. No matter how much it will cost... no matter what color... I was ready to put serious money on the counter for something I might need 2-3 times a year! Even wanted to give them a downpayment to show them how serious I am! But... NO! They promised me every time I called them that they ordered it but it would not have arrived yet... in fact... they never ordered it in the first place!! SUCKERS !!!

So since I am ranting about them already... let me continue!

I know this shop since 3-4 years... in this time ownership or management changed at least 4 times (got along great with the previous Managers)... boats sunk (for real!! But no one was onboard)... people went missing on diving trips (not really... but I would not be surprised)... AND I was not allowed to hand feed fish! I even swam 300 meters to a boat next to us to get some fish bait!! Look... I know what I am doing there! I really do! And there is nothing better to get someone into diving then showing him/her what is down there... and since fish are usually of the shy kind... you need to lure them out! Corall is nice to look at but it doesn't move and doesn't nibble on your fingers! But... NO!
Shit! I even made big time advertisment for them before! Everyone who asked me for a good diving school in Kuwait or organizer of trips I would send there! Not anymore...

So here is what I have to say to the current (mis-)management of Palms Diving Center:

NO! NO! NO!

Not with me my 'friends'... find some other idiots who are willing to pay for your over priced trips to the same reef every weekend...

The 'little one', the 'big one' and the 'old one'

So my new 'room mates' will move in today and tomorrow...
After a 2.5 hour cleaning session of my bachelors apartment, buying a new vacuum cleaner and breaking some stuff, they can move in to a tidy place.
So things are going smooth so far.

The 12 year old daughter... let's call her... errrm ... 'the little one' ... already told me how to rearrange my apartment before she even moved in! Told me what colors to put on the wall and shit like this ... SCARY !!!

My friend... let's call her ... errrrm ... 'the big one' ... all of a sudden became really religious when helping to prepare my apartment... she went like:"Jesus Christ!" and "Oh my god!" and "Oh Lord!". I had to tell her that words like these are not really welcome in my house ... I try to keep it free from ANY religion! But besides that she only suggested to put up a few pictures and plants which is cool with me as long asit's cars or girls in the pic. :P

The maid ... let's call her ... errmm ... 'the old one' ... was just smiling and cleaning her way to glory... and surprise surprise she didn't break anything! Which is kinda unusual!

OK ... this sounds really bad! It sounds like my apartment never seen a broom or mop. IT DID!!! I GUARANTEE !!! I personally used them! But I guess my sense of clean is not compatible with my new roomies. :P

Let's see what my apartment looks like when they leave and how much work I'll have getting it back to a bachelors place with NO feminin touch!

208 and Highway 51

Location: Highway 51
Time: 2:30 am
Date: Friday March 9th 2008

We thought we'll watch the Kuwaiti suicide culture a little and see their training sessions...
Street Racers!
As far as i know there is only three places to go to in Kuwait to see them. 208 and highway 51 / Wafra / Jahra.
We arrived on 51 and saw a bunch of cars lined up at the side of the road... nothing fancy... only some pimped SUV's, Mustangs, bikes and Datsun's. Like I said ... nothing fancy...
I was hoping for nice clean racing fun... but hell no!!!
WTF are you guys doing there?!?! Going against traffic?!?! That is INSANE!!!
It's bad enough to use public roads for street races but i get the point of using 208 and 51 for it since there is hardly any traffic at night (specially at 208).
But what are you doing there!!! I don't get it!!! At all!!!
You guys are MAD !!! (and when you read this I am sure that you get a grin on your face and say: "YEAH!" thinking that this is toooooo cool!)
Is this a secret Al Quaida Training camp to train suicide drivers to run into road blocks and clear the way for the truck loaded with explosives??!?
Fuck that!!! I am in 'need for speed' as well ... but not like this!!! This is plain stupid!

Update on 'See and be seen'

So the party was... OK!
Plenty of people (2000 where invited and all must have shown up)! All kinds of nationalities. High ranking military officials in fancy uniforms, Embassy staff from all over the place, business men and women and plenty of people like me... :P
Met a lot of people but forgot most of their names... (really bad with names!)
My potential sheika to maintain me was also there... In fact there where 3! Wealthy, good looking and bored of life. So let's see what happens there... ;)
Basically all mayor American type restaurants where present giving away free food! I tried as much as i can and was stuffed after 1 hour... Yummy stuff but no pork! Big disappointment!
Alcohol was served after the official part at around 9-9.30 and it was more then welcomed by the guest. In fact one guest was carried away by ambulance with alcohol problems and one was escorted out of the premises after sexually assaulting a teenage American girl. Both where Arab! :P
An ambassador who i will not mention by name was hitting really hard on my 'date' telling her he would love to see the chocolate from the chocolate fountain run all over her body! Darn! I was standing right next to her when he did that! He didn't really care since he too was a victim of alcohol.
Someone offered me to buy his 58" yacht for 400.ooo US$ and I said I'll think about it... (I will need time to think about how to get that amount of cash without robbing several banks!)
And hey! There are some hotties working in the U.S. Embassy!! Probably the best looking and best dressed one was a Pakistani women in a gorgeous red dress... (but I don't think she could maintain me :P ).
My 'date' was probablly THE attraction! maybe because I went shopping for cloth with her for this event and made sure she'll be really sexy! :P So if any of 'my female' readers need advice on what to wear ... drop me a line and I'll help you out for a couple of bucks ... :P
Like I mentioned earlier, I couldn't take the Wiesmann there since it would have been far away at the Amiri Diwanyia parking lot. But I'll try for the next big event!
Ohhh!!! The effin cleaners took my goody bag away from me filled with all kinds of crap. The only cool thing where a few coffe cups that I would have sponsored to my office... the rest was all stuff to throw away anyways. No big loss.
Dispite the fact that my contact to the American Embassy just got a little bit weaker last week, I am pretty sure I'll be there for the next events as well... Gotta make sure that I'll meet the girl in red! :P

Getting ready

I am sitting at my hair dresser getting ready for tonight's 4th of July party... I am terribly late already because my boss had to discuss all kinds of stuff with me today that in his opinion had no time until tomorrow... Well... It will be done tomorrow... :P
Another cool fact is that I am actually writing this blog entry on my mobile phone! ha! I love technology! :)
Guys 'n girls... Keep your fingers crossed that I'll meet the sheika tonight that wants to maintain me! :)
Laters ... it's my turn with cutting the little hair that i still have left...

I need ...

Me is bored!
Really bored!!!
Nothing to do at work then going thru blogs ... writing my own ... calling random people i didn't speak with in a while ...

I need either:
- work (that's not the preferred option)
- someone else in my office that i can bug when bored
- a TV in my office
- more movies on my hard drive
- a clone to sit down on my chair in office so i can go home and sleep a little
(so bored that I am effin tired)
- a dozen or two girls performing on a pole (short term excitement... :P)
- someone applying for a job he can't handle and me interviewing him
(I can be really mean in an interview if your CV shows that you are a effin genius and you
can hardly spell your name)

or

some other exciting thing to do...

I WANT ENTERTAINMENT .... NOW !!! :P

Roomie's and DVD

I thought about having a room mate for a long time but enjoyed my freedom more then the idea of paying less rent and having company. Besides, my apartment ain't that big and is not thaaaat expensive. 2 bedrooms very close to Salmiya for 240KD is half way decent.
Now, I don't need to think about it anymore since I offered a friend in need to stay at my place for a while. We know each other for a little over 3 years and I get along very well with this friend. Initially I thought about my friend only and not the kid and the maid that comes along with it. But what the heck...it's for max. 2 months and we can arrange somehow and the maid comes quite handy in my bachelors place! I just hope she leaves my DVD's and CD's alone and doesn't pile them up like my last maid did. Every time she cleaned, I had to sort my DVD's into 'good copy' / 'bad copy' / 'haven't seen yet' again.
I am hardly at home anyways and just go there to sleep / shower / play PS3 / watch TV / change and that's it.
I didn't life with a room mate for at least 3 years and back then I really liked it. But it was just one! Now it is 3!
Today we'll start cleaning out one of my bedrooms to make room for the daughter and the maid (both of them will need to share this room). I will give up my bedroom for my friend and crush on the couch (what I do anyways since most of the time I fall asleep watching TV).
I am pretty sure it will work out for the expected time frame of max. 2 months.

This means that there will be no DVD sessions at my place anymore. :(
The other place where we used to do that also doesn't exist anymore since they moved out ...
Anyone who wants to offer his private home theater to a bunch of nice guys and girls?!? We are not very demanding... 5.1 surround sound... min. 50" LCD or Plasma... comfy couch... clean blankets... enough to drink and eat... that's all we need! If we could smoke there, that would be a plus. We would come like every 2 weeks for one evening (or night) and most of the time clean up the mess we'll leave. Of course you could watch with us if we like you! :P
Just leave a comment if you fulfill the above requirements... :)

I am the 'Iron man'!

Great track to listen to by Black Sabbath! (recognise the singer?!)
Great comic book to read by Marvel Comics!
Great movie to see by Marvel again!!!
Good cast / good story / great special effects / nothing cut out (I believe).

See and be seen

I am going to celebrate the 4th of July on the 7th of May in the American Embassy in Kuwait! :)
Don't ask me why ... the invitation says that!!
Guess the ladies and gentlemen invited don't like the summer heat...

I was told I need to show up dressed to impress. It's one of those see and be seen events. Nothing I particularly like, but what the hell... free food... free drinks... new faces...

Seems like a lot of big shots will go there like the Prime Minister of the beautiful State of Kuwait and some of his 'Employees' (Ministers). Maybe the Amir will show up as well since it's one of their biggest allies inviting.

I thought about taking a Wiesmann Roadster there to make an appropriate entry and do some marketing as well ... but they won't allow me to park it in the embassy. So my boss won't allow me to take the car... what a shame!

Ohhh ... even though I am single and looking I will be married on this evening! And I will even have two kids (who are both out of the worst and actually quite fun and lovable!)!
I just hope my 'wife' let's me flirt and doesn't get too drunk ... :P

Should anything cool happen, like me meeting a Sheika who wants to maintain me, I will let you know.

"The rolling stones"

"Those are the people like the blowing wind or the rolling stones.. clinging on to something like that would blow one away.. "

This is what someone had to say to my bad morning start yesterday ...
Seems too easy ... right?!?
It's NOT !
Somehow we seem to be attracted by things that are not nesseraly good for us ... right!??
Cigarrettes, Alcohol (at least this one passed me), people, ...

I leave it at that and continue thinking...

What else?!?!

Here I am again ...
same old same old ...
some things changed ... most remained.

Still speeding, but by far not as bad as I did earlier! Guess I get older and wiser and just too afraid of actually being into real shit with Police! (so far made it without ever having to pay a ticket if stopped by police... not even being caught driving above 200km/h)
Car has changed to a more comfortable 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 with plenty of gadgets!
Too bad not everything in my life has changed...
Still not where I want to be ... Still in Kuwait... Upper Management with still shitty salary... still alone...
But at least all that personal, sad stuff that I have written about earlier in my blog is out of my mind!!! YEAH!!! Took me a looooong time ... but ... it's gone! :)
Guess memory is very selective!

What else?!

A very close and dear friend is about to leave Kuwait and it's gonna be a bitch to get used to it. A friend that is there no matter what, that ask for help if needed, that listens and gives advice, that talks and needs advice. We have been a great team for the last 3 years! Her daughter called me "the uncle that I never had' ... BOY AM I GOING TO MISS THEM !!!
Other people have left my life and I don't really regret it ... It's sad to see them in the situation they are now ... but there is nothing that I could do anymore. Believe me ... I was trying hard. But hey... they are old enough (one could think) to make their own decisions ... good or bad! Less headache for me and definitely a more secure life!
PLENTY of new people are in my life. Very nice ones, OK ones, not really OK ones, dumb ones, teasing ones, beautiful ones, ugly ones, ... like I said... PLENTY!
Seems like 'all' the women around me getting married... strange fact when you are getting older, isn't it. People you never expected all of a sudden get married and not only that... get pregnant like 2 hours after saying "yes, I want to"!
I had my crushes and flings... but... nothing serious and no marriage material. (sounds like I want to get married ... does it?!? Well ... yes ... but ... no!)
One crush is way more then I wanted it to be ... and is giving me new trouble in my life. Can't live without trouble it seems...

So ... what else ...?!?!

Had some really nice short trips to Dubai / Bahrain ... and a not so nice trip to Germany. Because of my neighbor being stupid and committing suicide because his girl left him! Why else would guys do stupid shit other then for women!? I didn't even really know him, so the fact that he killed himself didn't really bother me, but the fact that he blew up his house with a gas explosion at 3am in the morning and with this blowing half of his roof into my house did! The total damage to my house is around 80.000 EUR and insurance will not come up for all costs. Lucky that no one other then this idiot got hurt!

What else ... ?!?!

Plenty of business opportunities came up and went ... but I kinda saw that coming anyways. Still was very exited! Well, might still come up one day... Unlikely but who knows?!?!

And what else?!?

Hmmm... nothing!
For now...

and smelly too!

'Inconsistent'

in·con·sis·tent
Function: adjective
Date: 1620
: lacking consistency: as a: not compatible with another fact or claim b: containing incompatible elements c: incoherent or illogical in thought or actions d: not satisfiable by the same set of values for the unknowns
— in·con·sis·tent·ly adverb

When was the last time you where inconsistent?

For me this is a hard to answer question because i like to believe that everything i do is what i want to do and everything is going according to 'my plan' (and therefore consistent).
So do i really act consistent!? I guess most of the time I do! Or?

But here's the point... i know that there are a few things where my actions do not not match my thoughts and ideas which would make me inconsistent.

like at work...
you have this client or this one particular person you do not like ... so work where you would need to involve him/her gets delayed for the fact that you don't like him ... but you (I)actually now that this is wrong and it shouldn't be that way.
There are also these reports to fill out or to cross check... boring work... you know you need to do it... but you don't...

Or with friends...
You get a call and are asked to join someone or are invited to a party. Do you really reply with the truth (and this is what I believe in) if you don't feel like it for whatever reason!?? "yeah! great! I'll come!" and then ditch them later? or do you tell the truth right away? "nah... not today... don't feel like it... sorry". You know you should tell the truth (since he/she is your friend!)... but do you?

Finding your own inconsistencies is really not easy and our values/thoughts/ideas change with time and experience. It's much easier to point out friends, colleagues, family members, politicians and others!

Some other inconsistencies I find with me/friends/colleagues/family members:
"I don't drink often!" - but drinking every weekend or whenever there is something available
"I can't believe that there are so many accidents in Kuwait!" - but driving drunk
"I am really broke!" - but buying expensive stuff or worse borrow money to buy expensive stuff
"I am liberal!" - but being stuck in tradition/religion/family values/...
"I am not Arab!" - but holding a GCC or Lebanese passport
"I love my wife/girlfriend!" - but trying to f..k everything that's not up on a tree by the count of three!
"I hate Kuwait!" - but staying here for years!
"I hate my Job!" - but not even putting out resumes or not taking any offers
"I am your friend!" - but not really knowing who you are or what you do/feel/think
"I am really your friend!" - but back stabbing where ever possible
"let's do something on the weekend!" - but then sleeping or not feeling up for anything
"I need to quit smoking!" - but buying 2 packs a day
"I love my son!" - but not sending money to the ex wife to take care of him
"How are you?!" - and then not listening on what you have to say
"I am doing fine!" - but being really down

Inconsistencies with politicians:
"Vote for me! I'll make everything better!" - but it stays the same or gets worse
"Taxes need to be cut!" - but it's getting more and more
"..." - and the exact opposite happens

So 'being inconstant' means that you are lying to yourself or others... right!?
If your answer is 'yes'... aren't we all liars?!? And we just invented a new word for it in 1620?

The launch of Wiesmann

Remember what i wrote about Wiesmann? No ? Go and check it ... :P

The official launch is planned for the 2nd of October in the Al Raya Ballroom. We expect anything between 300-500 VIP's and VVIP's (or people that think they are).
Now the task is to make this an event that puts everything else in it's shadow (at least all car and brand launches). So we have the general concept and idea about the show BUT ... one important part is missing!
THE HOST or MC !
First we thought about one of us three (CEO/GM/me) but no one wants to stand up there during the whole event... AND... we are no celebrities! Who the hell knows us?? We wouldn't make it onto any page in the news paper... right?!?
So the CEO came up with Elissa... yes... this Elissa... singer / big lips / Arab sex symbol / ...
I personally think this is tooooooo much! In the end we want to sell our product and not have 300 horny guys and 200 angry women sitting in the audience. So we thought about male hosts... but... hey... we are men... so we want some eye candy at least (I mean come on... a known host charges you no less then a 3000-4000 KD per evening! So then there should be something for the eye as well... right?!?). It's a bit tricky to find the right mixture between sexy and well respected.
So now I have a question for all of you in Kuwait and the neighboring countries:
WHICH FEMALE HOST SATISFIES THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
- very attractive
- well respected
- very known
- able to be a bit funny on stage (is not taking herself too serious)
- does not want 50000 KD per evening
- single and looking (hehehe... not that important though :P )
So gimme ideas people !!! PLEASE!!! I don't want to have Ellisa here...
